Welcome to BG Eraser ("we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, BG Eraser (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the App.

Offline Processing & On-Device AI

Core feature: 100% of image processing for background and watermark removal happens entirely on your device.

We pride ourselves on our offline-first approach. The U²-Net AI model runs locally on your smartphone. When you select or capture a photo to remove its background or watermark:

  • The photo is processed locally on your device's hardware.
  • The original photo and the edited photo are NOT uploaded to our servers for processing.
  • Nobody but you has access to your images unless you explicitly share them or use our optional cloud sync feature.

Optional Cloud Synchronization

We offer an optional feature to sync your edited images across devices using a secure backend infrastructure (powered by Supabase). If you choose to create an account and enable Cloud Sync:

  • Account Information: We collect your email address and basic profile information to authenticate you.
  • Cloud Storage: Images you choose to save to the cloud will be securely transferred and stored in our database.
  • Opt-In Only: This feature is completely optional. You can use all core features of the app without creating an account or uploading any data.

Data We Collect (Analytics)

To improve BG Eraser, we may collect anonymized, non-personally identifiable information regarding your use of the App. This helps us fix bugs and improve performance.

  • Device Information: Operating system version, device model, and unique device identifiers.
  • Usage Data: Crash reports, features used, and app performance metrics.
  • None of this data is linked to your personal photos or identity.

Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
